Upcoming Protests

Political protesting is a vital component of democracy, we need to express dissent, in order to influence policy, and hold politicians accountable. We recognize our profound obligation to protect and preserve democracy, ensuring that its values of freedom, equality, and justice are upheld for present and future generations. Protests serve as a powerful reminder to politicians of the concerns and desires of the people they represent. While we strongly oppose and do not condone any form of political violence, we know that, especially with the current pro Fascist government, that democracy itself is in jeopardy and we are willing to fight to save it.

Is a Trump Recession coming?

Donald Trump and his billionaire Cabinet refuse to rule out a recession as their reckless policies cause unemployment to rise and consumer confidence to tumble. After lying to voters about his plans for a booming economy, Trump and his lackeys are dodging responsibility and spewing falsehoods to cover for a looming disaster of their own making. And Americans have had enough: Polling shows they are fed up with Trump’s reckless agenda, giving him disapproval ratings on the economy “worse than at any point during his first term.”

Our Government

This White House Is On Its Way To Being The Most Corrupt In U.S. History

Mar 6, 2025 UNITED STATES CAPITOL WASHINGTON—U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) on Thursday spoke on the U.S. Senate floor to expose the unprecedented corruption of the Trump administration’s first six weeks in office. Murphy condemned Trump’s normalization of pay-to-play politics, where billionaire donors dictate policy and taxpayer money is funneled into the pockets of the president, Elon Musk, and the corporate elite. The video is 28 minutes, definitely worth watching.

N.J. Globe Gubernatorial Democratic Primary Debate

The Democratic debate will be held on Sunday, May 18 with Newark Mayor Ras Baraka, Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop, Reps. Josh Gottheimer and Mikie Sherrill, and former Senate President Steve Sweeney. Democrats will debate on Taxes and Affordability, Education, and Public Transportation and Development.
Emmy Award-winning TV personality Laura Jones of On New Jersey, the host of “New Jersey Politics with Laura Jones,” a weekly public affairs show for On New Jersey and MeTV-WJLP New Jersey/New York, will moderate both debates. The panelists are David Wildstein and Joey Fox of the New Jersey Globe, and Micah Rasmussen, the director of the Rebovich Institute for New Jersey Politics at Rider University. Some questions will come from Payne school students. Save Jersey editor Matt Rooney will be a panelist in the Republican debate.

“A long-form debate format that focuses on three major categories won’t accommodate sound bites,” said Wildstein, the New Jersey Globe editor. “There will be no opportunity for candidates to avoid outlining the details of their positions.”
The debate will be held at the Essex County Donald M. Payne, Sr. School of Technology in Newark. The inner city school is a state-of-the-art, 320,000-square-foot, $100 million facility built in 2018 with an auditorium that can accommodate hundreds of attendees.
